A Shopify popup app that closes the sale, not an email list

The popup has no email field. That is the point. Most popup apps ask for an address now and hope to sell something later. This one shows an offer as a shopper with a full cart goes to leave, applies the code for the shopper, and leaves them alone the rest of the time. If you came for a newsletter popup, this is not it.

What this popup is not

Three kinds of Shopify popup Resparq will never be

Newsletter popups

No email field, no signup. Keep the one you have; Resparq waits if it is open.

Spin-to-win wheels

No wheel, no random prize. The offer is decided before it shows and the code applies itself. Scratch Reveal is a layout, not a lottery: what is under the foil is the same offer.

Welcome discounts on arrival

No offer for showing up. The popup is for a shopper who has put something in the cart and is about to go, or has lingered with it.

What it does

A pop up on Shopify with one job: the cart in front of it

A shopper adds to cart and goes to leave. Resparq shows one modal: one button in Manual mode, and at most a second one (keep shopping, or go to checkout) when the AI serves a threshold or a reminder. In Manual mode it is the offer you wrote. In Guided and AI mode the modal is chosen per shopper from signals like cart value, time on site, device, traffic source and past abandonment, and in AI mode it is sometimes a reminder with no discount. Accept the offer and a single-use code is applied on the way to checkout.

That is the whole product. How the trigger works is on the exit intent popup page, and how the code and the offer sizing work is on the discount popup page.

When it shows and when it hides

Six reasons the popup stays out of the way

Every trigger needs items in the cart: Guided and AI mode check when the trigger is armed; in Manual mode the time-delay trigger checks when it arms and the exit trigger when it fires. It fires on the cursor leaving the page on desktop, on a per-variant timer in Guided and AI mode on any device, or on a tab return on mobile. Everything below keeps it hidden.

One modal per session

After a dismissal a discount offer survives as a small pill for up to 24 hours, even across visits; one tap applies the code and goes to checkout. The full modal does not return that visit, except on Enterprise stores that opt in to the pill-first surface, where an ignored pill can escalate.

Cooldown with backoff

Days between shows, 3 by default and adjustable on Pro and up in Manual or Guided mode, doubling with each dismissal up to 30 days.

Cap per 30 days

A ceiling on shows per shopper per 30 days, 5 by default, adjustable on Pro and up in Manual or Guided mode.

Post-purchase quiet period

A shopper who buys sees no modal for 30 days by default. A pill from a still-valid code can linger up to 24 hours.

One modal at a time

If another app has a popup open, Resparq waits rather than stacking.

Holdout

In Guided and AI mode, 10% of eligible shoppers never see it, so lift can be measured.

Speed and theme

Deferred scripts, no theme files, ten layouts

The app embed adds four deferred scripts that run after the page has rendered and touches nothing in your theme files. Switch the embed off and they are gone. Any Shopify theme, two toggles, no code.

Ten layouts on every plan, including Bottom Sheet for phones and Corner Toast when you want something small. Four copy presets for Manual mode, where the headline, body and offer are yours; in Guided and AI mode the AI tests copy from its own pool and picks the layout. On Pro and up, a layout that clashes with your theme can be switched off on its own. Enterprise adds custom CSS and removes the Resparq badge.

FAQ

Shopify popup app questions

Something else? Email sales@resparq.ai.

The popup never asks for one. There is no email field, no spin wheel and no newsletter signup. It shows a cart offer or a reminder to a shopper who is about to leave, and if they accept a discount the code is applied automatically through Shopify's own discount link on the way to checkout. Like any app that tracks orders, Resparq does keep the customer email, or phone number, from a Shopify order it recovered, so you can see which orders came back; the privacy page covers that. If you want a signup popup, run one from your email app; Resparq checks for an open popup from another app and waits rather than stacking on it.

Every trigger needs items in the cart: Guided and AI mode check when the trigger is armed; in Manual mode the time-delay trigger checks when it arms and the exit trigger when it fires. On desktop the exit trigger watches for the cursor leaving the page toward the tab bar or the back button, and in Guided and AI mode a variant may add a timer on the page, so a shopper who lingers with a full cart can see the modal on desktop too. On mobile there is no cursor, so Guided mode and AI mode use that timer, starting once the cart has items, and, for exit-intent variants, the shopper coming back to the tab after switching away. Manual mode on any plan can switch on a time-delay trigger that fires once the cart has items.

A cart that never had items. A second full modal in the same session (a dismissed discount offer survives as a small pill for up to 24 hours, even across visits). A shopper inside the cooldown (3 days by default, adjustable on Pro and up in Manual or Guided mode), which lengthens with each dismissal up to 30 days, or past the cap on shows per 30 days (5 by default). A shopper who just bought, for 30 days by default, though a pill from a still-valid code can linger up to 24 hours. Another app's popup already open. And in Guided mode and AI mode on Pro and Enterprise, 10% of eligible shoppers are held out and never shown a modal, so the dashboard reports lift against that group once it clears 30 visitors. Starter runs in Manual mode with no holdout.

The scripts load deferred, after the page has rendered, so they do not block your store's content. Nothing is injected into your theme files: the app embed adds the scripts and removes them when you switch it off.

Yes. Install from the Shopify App Store, switch on the Resparq app embed in the theme editor, then switch the modal on from the Resparq dashboard. Two toggles, no code, any Shopify theme. On Pro and up, a layout that clashes with your theme can be turned off and the rest kept.

Ten layouts on every plan: Classic Card, Cart Preservation, Top Banner, Bottom Sheet, Coupon Ticket, Split Hero, Timer Front, Scratch Reveal, Editorial and Corner Toast. Four copy presets: Discount Offer, Limited Time, Social Proof and Cart Reminder. In Manual mode the headline, body and offer are yours to edit; in Guided and AI mode the AI tests copy from its own pool and picks the layout. Enterprise adds custom CSS and removes the Resparq badge.

Where the store runs a consent banner, Resparq reads the answer through Shopify's Customer Privacy API and stores nothing persistent in the browser of a shopper who declined. The popup still works; it just forgets that shopper between visits.

Manual mode: you write the popup, set the offer and choose the triggers. Guided mode, on Pro and up: you pin one offer and the AI decides who sees a modal, when, and how it is worded, never going above your number. AI mode, on Pro and up: the AI sizes the offer per shopper within the aggression level you set, and some shoppers get a reminder with no discount.

Starter is free: Manual mode, up to 1,000 impressions a month. Pro is $50 a month flat and adds Guided mode and AI mode. Enterprise is $150 a month for unlimited impressions, custom CSS and white-label modals. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial, with no setup fees and no commission on recovered orders.

One popup, one job, no list

Install from the Shopify App Store, two toggles, and the next full cart that goes to leave gets a reason to stay.
