The Shopify abandoned cart app that acts before they leave
Shopify's abandoned checkout email arrives hours later, and only for shoppers who reached checkout with contact details. Resparq recovers abandoned carts on the store itself: it spots the shopper about to leave, shows an offer (personalized by the AI on Pro and up), and applies the code at checkout automatically. No email needed, no theme code.
What an on-site app does that the abandoned checkout email cannot
Shopify already emails abandoned checkouts, and an email app can do it with more polish. Both wait until the shopper has gone and both need an address. An on-site abandoned cart app works the moment before that, on every shopper, with nothing to type.
Abandoned cart recovery for Shopify, in four steps
Everything happens while the shopper is still on your store. No flow to build, no list to grow, no waiting for an open. The trigger is an exit intent popup; how detection works on desktop and mobile has its own page.
Detect
A shopper with items in the cart shows the signs of leaving: the cursor leaves the page on desktop, or a pause and a tab switch on mobile. Manual mode can use a time-delay trigger instead.
Decide
In Manual mode the offer you set appears. On Pro and up, the AI reads real-time signals, including cart value, device, traffic source and visit history, and picks the intervention for this shopper: a discount, a reminder, or nothing.
Show
A modal appears with the offer and one button. No form, no email field. Cooldown and 30-day frequency limits (defaults on every plan, adjustable on Pro and up in Manual or Guided mode) cap how often one shopper sees it.
Apply
If the shopper accepts a discount, the code is already on the cart at checkout. No copy, no paste, nothing to forget.
The abandoned checkouts in your Shopify admin are the smaller half
Shopify's abandoned checkouts report lists shoppers who reached checkout and entered contact details before leaving. That is the group Shopify's recovery email can reach.
Shoppers who add to cart and leave from the cart page, or from a product page, never appear in that report, and the abandoned checkout email cannot reach them. Resparq runs on your storefront and watches for the leaving signal on product and cart pages, so the carts Shopify cannot see are the ones it handles.
Want a number for your own store? The cart abandonment calculator works it out from your sessions, conversion rate and order value.
Decide how much of the offer the AI controls
Start with your own number and hand over more when you trust the results. Switching modes is a setting, not a reinstall.
Manual mode
You write the copy, set the offer and choose when it appears. The app shows it. Nothing moves unless you move it.
Guided mode
You pin one offer for every shopper. The AI decides who sees a modal, when, and how it is worded, and never goes above the number you set.
AI mode
The AI sizes the offer per shopper within the aggression level you set, under an optional weekly or monthly discount budget cap, and tests copy from its own pool, trigger and layout on its own.
Flat monthly, no commission
Every paid plan includes a 14-day free trial. No setup fee, no cut of recovered orders, cancel any time.
Starter
Manual mode, up to 1,000 impressions a month
Pro
Guided mode and AI mode, up to 10,000 impressions a month
Enterprise
Unlimited impressions, white-label, custom CSS
Full plan details, annual pricing and the impression limits are on the pricing section.
No, it runs before them. Shopify's abandoned checkout email goes out hours after a shopper who reached checkout with contact details leaves. Resparq acts on the store itself, in the moment the shopper is about to leave, and needs no address. Keep Shopify's email on. Resparq handles the shoppers on product and cart pages who never reach checkout, which Shopify's email cannot see at all.
Yes. Klaviyo, Omnisend and similar apps work a different moment: they send messages after the shopper is gone. Resparq works on-site, while the shopper is still there, and the popup never asks for an email address, so there is nothing to sync and no flow to rebuild. A shopper who ignores the modal and leaves still gets whatever email your other app sends.
The popup never asks for one. It shows an offer or a reminder, and if the shopper accepts a discount the code is applied at checkout automatically. The goal is the sale now, not an address for later. Like any app that tracks orders, Resparq does keep the customer email, or phone number, from a Shopify order it recovered, so you can see which orders came back; the privacy page covers that. If you want a newsletter popup, use an email app alongside Resparq.
Shopify's admin lists abandoned checkouts: shoppers who reached checkout and entered contact details, then left. Carts abandoned before that step never appear there, and the abandoned checkout email cannot reach them. Resparq runs on your storefront, on product and cart pages, so it reaches the shoppers who leave before checkout and never make it into that report.
Depends on the mode. In Manual mode you set what appears and when. In Guided mode you pin one offer and the AI decides who sees it, when, and how it is worded, never going above your number. In AI mode the AI sizes the offer itself, within the aggression level you set and under an optional weekly or monthly discount budget cap, using the shopper signals it reads in real time. Some shoppers get a reminder with no discount at all.
Yes, and the trigger depends on the mode. On desktop the exit trigger, on by default in every mode, watches for the cursor leaving the page toward the tab bar or the back button. In Guided and AI mode a variant can also fire on a countdown on the page, on any device. On mobile there is no cursor, so Guided mode and AI mode use that countdown on the page, starting once the cart has items, and, for exit-intent variants, the shopper coming back to the tab after switching away. Manual mode on any plan can switch on a time-delay trigger that fires once the cart has items, on phones as well as desktop. The modal is responsive and sized for phones.
No code. Install from the Shopify App Store, switch on the Resparq app embed in the theme editor, then switch the modal on from the Resparq dashboard. Two toggles, no theme files touched, and it works with any Shopify theme. Copy, offers and timing are adjusted from the app afterwards.
On Pro and Enterprise in Guided or AI mode, 10% of eligible shoppers are held out and never shown a modal, and the dashboard reports lift against that group once it clears 30 visitors. Starter runs in Manual mode with no holdout, so its dashboard shows conversions and attributed revenue rather than lift.
Starter is free: Manual mode, up to 1,000 impressions a month. Pro is $50 a month flat and adds Guided mode and AI mode. Enterprise is $150 a month for unlimited impressions and white-label modals. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial, with no setup fees and no commission on recovered orders.
