An uptain alternative with a flat price and no commission
uptain is a conversion suite listed in English and German: exit intent popups, abandoned cart emails and newsletter slide-ins, free to install with a commission rate you work out on its website. Resparq does one of those three jobs, the offer on the page as a shopper with items in the cart goes to leave, for a flat monthly fee with no commission. Which one fits depends on how much of the package you want and how you prefer to pay.
A suite on commission, or one job at a flat price
uptain
Shopify App Store listing “uptain Conversion Optimization”, read October 15, 2026
uptain’s listing leads with “Never worry about Cart Abandonment again”. It identifies the reasons for abandonment “based on AI and prevents shopping cart abandonment in a targeted manner through service communication or vouchers”, with three named features: “intelligent exit-intent popups”, abandoned cart emails and “smart newsletter slide-ins” for double opt-ins. English and German.
The listing says “Free to install. Additional charges may apply.” and “Please calculate your commission rate on our website.” No monthly price is published there. The listing shows 4.9 stars across 11 reviews, and the reviews mention installation support.
Resparq
What the app does, from the code it ships
Resparq runs on your storefront, on product and cart pages, and when a shopper with items in the cart goes to leave, it shows one modal: an offer, or in AI mode sometimes a reminder with no discount. In Manual mode it is the offer you wrote. In Guided and AI mode the modal is chosen per shopper from signals like cart value, time on site, device, traffic source and past abandonment. Accept the offer and a single-use code is applied on the way to checkout.
The popup never asks for an email address. Starter is free, Pro is $50 a month flat and Enterprise is $150, with no overage and no commission on recovered orders. In Guided mode and AI mode on Pro and Enterprise, 10% of eligible shoppers are held out and never shown a modal, so the dashboard reports lift against that group once it clears 30 visitors.

The whole suite on commission, or one job at a flat price
If you want one vendor to run the exit popup, the recovery emails and the newsletter capture, in English and German, with installation support, uptain is built as that package. Resparq is not that. It does one job, has no email sending at all, and is installed with two toggles.
The price shape is the real fork. A commission scales with whatever it is charged on, and the listing sends you to uptain’s website to calculate yours. Resparq charges $0, $50 or $150 a month and takes no cut of recovered orders, so the bill is known before the first modal shows.
On measurement: in Guided mode and AI mode on Pro and Enterprise, 10% of eligible shoppers are held out and never shown a modal, so the dashboard reports lift against that group once it clears 30 visitors. Recovered revenue on its own always includes sales that would have happened anyway, whichever tool reports it.

Abandoned cart emails and newsletter slide-ins. Resparq has no email sending and the popup never asks for an email address; if you want recovery emails, keep Shopify’s abandoned checkout email or an email app running beside it. uptain also lists English and German, and its reviews mention installation support; Resparq is self-serve.
Both put an exit offer on the page, so the two would compete for the same moment; if another app has a popup open, Resparq waits rather than stacking. Run one exit offer. uptain’s emails and slide-ins do not conflict with Resparq, which never asks for an address.
Flat. Starter is free: Manual mode, up to 1,000 impressions a month. Pro is $50 a month flat and adds Guided mode and AI mode. Enterprise is $150 a month for unlimited impressions and white-label modals. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial, with no setup fees and no commission on recovered orders. uptain’s listing says free to install with additional charges and a commission rate you calculate on its website.
Measure against a holdout. In Guided mode and AI mode on Pro and Enterprise, 10% of eligible shoppers are held out and never shown a modal, so the dashboard reports lift against that group once it clears 30 visitors. Starter runs in Manual mode with no holdout, so it reports conversions and attributed revenue rather than lift. Recovered revenue on its own always includes sales that would have happened anyway.
It works on the storefront, on product and cart pages, while the shopper is still there. On desktop the exit trigger watches for the cursor leaving the page, and in Guided and AI mode a variant can also fire on a timer on the page, on any device. On mobile there is no cursor, so Guided mode and AI mode use that timer, starting once the cart has items, and, for exit-intent variants, the shopper coming back to the tab after switching away. Manual mode on any plan can switch on a time-delay trigger that fires once the cart has items. The popup never asks for an email address, and an accepted discount is applied through Shopify’s discount link on the way to checkout.
No code. Install from the Shopify App Store, switch on the Resparq app embed in the theme editor, then switch the modal on from the Resparq dashboard. Two toggles, and it works with any Shopify theme. The scripts load deferred, after the page has rendered.
The popup never asks for one. It shows an offer or a reminder, and if the shopper accepts a discount the code is applied at checkout automatically. The goal is the sale now, not an address for later. Like any app that tracks orders, Resparq does keep the customer email, or phone number, from a Shopify order it recovered, so you can see which orders came back; the privacy page covers that. If you want a newsletter popup, use an email app alongside Resparq.
